Bradbury strikes a perfect blend of surreal and fantasy with more than just a bit of hard-boiled noir in this, the first of his Crumley Mysteries. The story is unique. Bradbury's observations are, as always, entertaining. In his description of the scenes, Bradbury makes you feel the grit and oily decay. The cast of characters is colorful.
